BUTLER, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team got two moon-shot home runs from senior
Cody Ezolt Wednesday, but could not keep pace with No. 8 Seton Hill, dropping an 11-5 decision in the team's first game of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament on a beautiful afternoon from Kelly Automotive Park in Butler, Pa. SU will take on the loser of Wednesday night's California (Pa.)/Millersville game on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

Shippensburg (25-24), the Eastern Division No. 3 seed, finished with 5 runs on 7 hits and 2 errors while Seton Hill (40-9), the Western Division No. 2 seed, had 11 runs on 11 hits and 1 error.

Sophomore
Jake Kennedy opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with a two-out, two-run home run to right field. Junior
Mike Marcinko scored on the play after reaching base on a hit-by-pitch to lead off the game.

With two outs in the second inning, Seton Hill doubled, singled, tripled, and reached on an error, scoring three runs, to take a 3-2 advantage.

The Griffins added a run in the third inning on a solo shot from senior Nick Sell, who ranks second in Division II in home runs (26).

In the fourth inning, Ezolt belted a no-doubter solo home run that skied way over the 385 sign in left-center field, drawing SU within one run of the lead at 4-3.

Seton Hill extended its lead by scoring five runs in the fifth frame and two in the sixth as the Raiders could muster just two more runs over the final five frames.

Ezolt's second round-tripper of the afternoon came in the sixth inning when he unloaded on a 2-2 pitch, sending it soaring over the 425 mark to dead-center field. He finished 3-for-4 with the two home runs, a double, three RBIs and two runs.

Grant Hoover went 1-for 4 with a triple while Marcinko reached base three times, including two walks.
