SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team will once again be participating in the “Lax 4 Life” fund-raiser this season in an effort to raise funding for adolescent suicide prevention. The Lady Raiders will be collecting donations during the games against Millersville (March 17) and Limestone (March 20).
“Lax 4 Life” is a foundation that deals with adolescent suicide prevention. Proceeds raised at the lacrosse games will go towards the Allyson Fund that was started three years ago after Allyson Green, younger sister to former West Chester University goalkeeper Mary Beth Green, committed suicide.
Both schools will wear “Lax 4 Life” T-shirts in pregame warm-ups and have a collective photo taken to commemorate the occasion. Additionally, a collection will be taken up in the stands to help raise money for this worthy cause.
