SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University wrestling team welcomed back 46 of its alums on Saturday night from Heiges Field House, including former coach and athletic director Bill "Spider" Corman, while the current grapplers got pins from three wrestlers en route to its second straight convincing dual meet victory, 30-12 over Anderson University (S.C.).

Shippensburg (2-2) won the first four bouts and six of the first seven, as redshirt senior Nate Nauroth  and redshirt juniors Nate Reese and Chris Barrick recorded the victories by fall.

Nauroth, competing in his first bout since the PSAC Championships in December, picked up his sixth pin of the year and improved his record to 7-3. Barrick earned his fourth victory by fall and enhanced his record to 11-1. The quickest of the pins was by Reese, who got an early takedown and then flipped his competitor for a pin in 1:06. Reese is now 3-4.

The Raider grapplers got going with decisions at 125 and 133 from sophomore Justin Morris and freshman Simon Rice. Morris had a near fall in the second period that helped him toward an 8-4 win, while Rice's first-period takedown and riding time advantage were instrumental in a 4-2 decision.

SU's other decisions came at 149 from freshman Devan Jones, who had three takedowns in an 8-2 victory, and at heavyweight from redshirt freshman Tyler Zittle, who grabbed a late takedown to secure his 5-2 decision.

Anderson (5-5) won two of the final three bouts but earned the first by medical forfeit. Redshirt senior Jon Hade recorded an early takedown in his match but while trying prevent his competitor's escape he took a forearm to the mouth and was forced to bow out.

Redshirt senior Bill Purvis competed hard at 157 pounds against J.J. Jackson, the No. 3 ranked wrestler in the East region, but dropped a 9-4 decision. Redshirt junior Brian Hindle fell short at 197 pounds, 3-2.

Shippensburg returns to action tomorrow at Millersville University in open competition at the "Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic. Wrestling is set to begin at 9 a.m.
