Thank you for visiting the Shippensburg University swimming web site. I am very excited about your interest in SHIP and our swimming program. I think as you investigate the University and its Athletic Department, you will find it is hard to match our outstanding opportunities here at Shippensburg.
Most importantly, by becoming a student-athlete here, you will be receiving one of the finest, most affordable educations available in the United States. Shippensburg consistently rates among the national leaders in public institutions of higher learning. Our faculty, facilities and programs are among the finest you will find anywhere. You will be challenged to work to your potential and given the personal support to do so. Upon graduation from SHIP, you can be very confident in your abilities and preparation for whatever path you take.
We are quite proud of our swimming program. We have accomplished some amazing things and our reputation for helping people to improve is unmatched. Our training program is exciting, challenging and geared to helping you become the best swimmer and teammate you can be. We have a terrific environment!!!!!!
One of the highlights of our program is that we compete in two large invitational meets in the fall. These allow you an opportunity to "get up and swim fast" more than just once or twice a year. After all, isn’t that what all that hard work is for?!?!?!?!?!?!?! We shave and rest for these meets and about 90% of the time so we see lifetime best swims!!! Then we cycle for the end of the season and go even faster!!!! It is a program that is fun and unique all to itself!!!!
