2009 (Sophomore): Mandato competed in the 6K Alumni Meet in his second season on the cross country squad. The 800-meter specialist once again contributed to a third-place finish with the 4x800-meter indoor relay squad.

2008 (Freshman):
Mandato made his Raider debut with a 4K performance in the Dickinson Invitational, posting a time of 13:46 that served as the team’s 10th-fastest time. During the indoor track season, Mandato contributed to a 4x800-meter relay squad that finished third at the PSAC meet.

Lansdale Catholic High School:
As an eight-time varsity letterwinner, Mandato thrived under head coach Keith Spiers. He anchored his 4x800-meter relay squad to a fourth-place finish at the PIAA Championships as a senior. Mandato also qualified for the indoor PIAA meet in the 800 meters. It was not until his senior year that Mandato competed in cross country but he was a state qualifier and earned All-PAC 10 honors. He was named the Most Outstand Senior Athlete at his high school and also earned All-PSAC 10 First Team honors in track as a junior and senior. In addition to track, Mandato lettered three times in soccer.

Personal: Pio Francis Mandato is the son of Vince and the late Sue Mandato and is majoring in human communication studies. Mandato’s father played soccer at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has one brother, Andrew.
