2008-09 (Freshman): Appeared in the first two games of the season before having to take a medical redshirt due to injury…averaged five points and 2.5 rebounds per game...went 5-for-7 from the field…saw 11 minutes per game in the two games played.

Roman Catholic High School: Wes Kirkland averaged 12 points and five rebounds in his senior season at Roman Catholic and was selected to the Third Team All-Catholic League squad. He also received honorable mention All-City recognition in Philadelphia. Kirkland helped guide his team to the 2008 Catholic League Championship and the 2007 Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament Championship as a senior, with the squad finishing ranked No. 15 in the nation. In three years as a varsity starter, Kirkland and his Roman Catholic High School teammates finished with a 67-15 record. His team won the Philadelphia Catholic League title in 2006-07 and he was ranked as a Top 50 player in the state and the Philadelphia metro area.
