SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University softball team and head coach
Bob Brookens have released the 2013 schedule. The Raiders return a young group of players that will look to return SU to the PSAC Softball Championships for the third consecutive season.
Shippensburg will open its season with three games at the Shaw Tournament in Raleigh, N.C. from Feb. 15-17 before heading to Salisbury, N.C. the following weekend for three games at the Catawba College Invitational.
UPDATE: The Raiders will travel on March 2-3 to Murfreesboro, N.C. for doubleheaders with Chowan. After a two-week break, the team will travel to Salem, Va. to compete in the three-day West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament before heading south to Kissimmee, Fla. for the Rebel Spring Games from March 18-24.
SU will begin its month of PSAC East competition beginning on March 30 with a home-opening doubleheader against Kutztown. The team's only non-divisional opponents during this stretch are Lock Haven (home doubleheader on April 13) and Slippery Rock (road doubleheader on April 20). The PSAC Softball Championships will be held May 1-4 in Drifton, Pa.
