SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Shippensburg University baseball team and head coach Matt Jones have announced the 2013 schedule. The Raiders are coming off a season in which they achieved their most wins in five years and finished among the final four teams at the PSAC Baseball Championships.

SU will open its season on Feb. 16 with three games in two days at Barton before competing against three non-conference schools at the Asheboro Tournament Feb. 22-24. The team will play three games in two days at Concord on March 2-3 before returning home for its debut from Fairchild Field with three games in two days against Slippery Rock beginning March 9.

Shippensburg will face two more non-conference opponents in Le Moyne (at home) and Catawba (on the road) before beginning PSAC East play at East Stroudsburg on March 22. Among the non-divisional and non-conference opponents the Raiders will play in the second half of the season include IUP, Wilmington, Lock Haven and Clarion.

The squad will wrap up PSAC East play May 3 and 4 against Mansfield before the PSAC Tournament kicks off May 8-11 from Johnstown.
