NEW ORLEANS - The Shippensburg University women's track and field team was recognized as a 2010 Division II All-Academic Track and Field Team by the USTFCCCA and was one of three programs to lead the nation with 12 individual representatives on the All-Academic Team.
SU was one of 10 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schools on the USTFCCCA list, the most among any Division II conference.
Shippensburg's women's program boasts a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.29. The 12 ladies that earned All-Academic designation were:
Megan Breski,
Katie Craven,
Mary Dell,
Emily Dubs,
Shannon Hare,
Laura Henzy,
Erica Hess,
Abby Huber,
Amanda Raudabaugh,
Lauren Redington,
Neely Spence and
Sara Wlazelek.
The squads earn All-Academic team distinctions for having at least a 3.00-cumulative GPA. To qualify for the individual All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
Notes: A total of 67 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better…a record total of 276 student-athletes representing 72 institutions composed the group of individual All-Academic selections.
Bryan Beegle earned All-Academic honors on the men's side.
