2010 Schedule

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg has released its 2010 field hockey regular season schedule. The Lady Raiders are coming off a 20-3 season in which the club reached the national semifinals. Nine games will be held at Robb Sports Complex.

Once again, Shippensburg will compete in a season-opening tournament with St. Michael's and Southern Connecticut State, who functions this year as the host site (Mansfield will be the fourth team in the tournament). The Lady Raiders will open at 1:30 p.m. on September 4 against the Owls of SCSU before facing the Purple Knights of St. Michael's the next day.

The 2010 home opener is also the team's PSAC Western Division opener, as Shippensburg hosts Slippery Rock on Tuesday, September 21 at 4 p.m. Four days later, the Lady Raiders will host defending national champion Bloomsburg in a PSAC crossover match.

Among the other PSAC West home games on the schedule include a match against Mercyhurst on Saturday, October 5 and back-to-back games with IUP and Mansfield on October 26 and 30. The final home game of the regular season will be on Tuesday, November 9 against Kutztown.

Before the season starts, the field hockey team will be in Bermuda from August 23-28. During their trip, the Lady Raiders will have two matches against the Bermuda national team (Tuesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 26).
