Cody Kulp and sophomore designated hitter
Jimmy Miller were named on Tuesday morning to the 2010 All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team baseball squad after balloting was conducted by the league's head coaches.
Kulp was honored as a second-team outfielder for the second consecutive season. He once again solidified the right field position for the Red Raiders by making 48 starts and appearing in all 49 of the team's games. He led SU in hits (53), home runs (7), walks (22), RBIs (38) and slugging percentage (.550) while also batting .331 with 12 doubles.
His defense was once again solid as he collected eight outfield assists. Additionally, he stole three bases, compiled a team-high 11 games with multiple RBIs and had multiple hits in 13 games. Kulp also posted a season-long hitting streak of 10 games.
Miller was honored by the conference for the first time in his career. In addition to his role as one of the team's primary starting pitchers this season, Miller was adept at the plate. He ranked fourth on the team with a .303 batting average, slugging two home runs to complement 21 RBIs. Through 38 games this season, Miller added 11 doubles and scored 24 runs while posting a .384 on-base percentage.
The coaches voted Shayne Houck of Kutztown as the East Player of the Year, while IUP's Paul Bingham won West Player of the Year. East Stroudsburg's Christian Saveri and California's Randy Sturgill were named the East and West Pitchers of the Year.
