STARKVILLE, Ms. - Three members of the Shippensburg University softball team were designated as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athletes by achieving a minimum grade-point average during the 2009-10 academic year.

Leading the group was junior Courtney Steele, followed by fellow classmate Hope Cornell and freshman Jenn Deardorff. Shippensburg has now had six athletes recognized as NFCA Scholar Athletes over the last three academic years.
