LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Junior Hope Cornell was named to the 2010 Daktronics All-Atlantic Region Second Team squad at second base on Wednesday afternoon after voting was completed by the region's sports information directors. It is her second career selection to the All-Atlantic region squad.

Cornell was the team's leading hitter this season despite missing the first six games of the year due to injury. She batted .351 at the plate with eight home runs and 25 RBIs while scoring 21 runs.

She served as the team's leader in multiple statistical categories, including batting average, homers, runs, walks and slugging percentage. Cornell also ranked second on the squad in doubles and RBIs and was the PSAC Eastern Division Player of the Week on April 5.

Cornell was particularly effective in divisional play, batting .438 in 16 PSAC East games while getting on base at a .491 clip to go along with 18 RBIs and 21 hits. She finished 11 games with multiple hits this season and will enter her senior season as Shippensburg's all-time home runs leader with 24 through three seasons of work.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
