SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg head field hockey coach
Bertie Landes has confirmed the signing of seven players and the recruitment of nine other newcomers that have agreed to attend the university and will try out for the Lady Raider program when preseason camp gets underway in August.
In total, Landes will observe a group of 16 newcomers that will challenge for roles on next year's squad along with the group of returning players that advanced to the NCAA Division II Semifinals last season with a 20-3 record.
“Our 2010 signees will bring experience, skill and a passion for their sport to our program,” Landes said. “I was most impressed by their foot speed and their aggressive play. This will be a very talented class who I think have the ability to see immediate playing time.”
