NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Shippensburg University wrestling team secured a two-match sweep over St. Andrews Presbyterian and Limestone during the second day of competition at the 2010 East Region Duals. Shippensburg routed St. Andrews Presbyterian 48-0 in an early morning session before earning a comeback win over the region's No. 7 team Limestone by a score of 20-18.

Shippensburg (5-3) handily topped St. Andrews during Saturday’s opening session at host Newberry College. Every Red Raider was victorious, including wins via pin by sophomore Justin Morris, freshman Simon Rice, redshirt junior Nate Reese and freshman Keith Dahlheimer.

In the 1:30 p.m. session, the Red Raiders picked up key wins, including four wins in the final six matches to earn a hard-fought victory over Limestone. Morris picked up an early win at 125 pounds but the next three matches went in favor of Saints' wrestlers.

Redshirt senior Bill Purvis used a riding time advantage to squeak out a 5-4 victory over Limestone’s Mikel Bush and spark the late comeback.  At 174 pounds, redshirt junior Chris Barrick earned his second victory of the day, dominating Limestone’s Casey Bradley for an 11-2 major decision win.

Red shirt senior Jon Hade, facing his second regionally-ranked opponent in as many days, pushed Landon Hall to double overtime before succumbing in a 6-4 loss. Hall entered the match ranked fourth in the region in the most recent poll.

Dahlheimer capped a stellar weekend by earning his third win via pin in four matches with a pin of Limestone’s Mike Walsh in the first period of his match. More importantly, Dahlheimer’s win shortened Limestone’s lead to just two points entering the final match.

Sophomore Tyler Zittle brought home the Shippensburg victory by dominating Limestone’s Tarek Alaruri in a 13-4 major decision win.

The Red Raiders concluded the 2010 East Region Duals with a respectable 3-1 record. Shippensburg returns to action at home on Thursday against York. The teams will square off inside Heiges Field House at 7 p.m.
