LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Shippensburg University volleyball senior outside hitter
Hannah Sorber was named the PSAC Eastern Division Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by conference officials, marking the first time this season that a Lady Raider has received the award.
Sorber came up big for the Lady Raiders in their last two games of the regular season after she totaled 23 kills, seven service aces and six blocks. Despite a loss to the Golden Bears, Sorber posted a season high 14 kills and six block assists to move into second place on the school's all-time list for block assists.
On Saturday, the Lady Raiders picked up a meaningful win against the Golden Rams to bump them up another spot in the divisional standings. Sorber recorded nine kills and five service aces to lead the Lady Raiders to a 3-0 sweep.
Shippensburg is in action Tuesday evening at Kutztown in the PSAC Quarterfinals.
