Lady Raider Softball Program Announces Instructional Clinic Beginning In October

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University softball team will be hosting a pitching and hitting instructional clinic on Sundays from Oct. 25 - Dec. 6, 2009. The clinic will be held on campus and will feature instruction by both the Shippensburg coaching staff and players.

For more information, contact head coach Bob Brookens at (717) 477-1328. There will be no clinic held on November 29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

In his 10th season at Shippensburg, Brookens and his staff have compiled a record of 315-155 for a .670 winning percentage. Brookens, who became the head coach in 2001, has won at least 26 games in each of his nine seasons and sits as the second winningest coach in program history.

The Lady Raiders had a No. 3 final national ranking in 2004, a No. 5 final ranking in 2003 and a No. 18 final ranking in 2006. Under his leadership, the team has had 36 All-PSAC Eastern Division selections and 11 NFCA All-Americans.
